NanoHorizons was founded by a team of scientists from Pennsylvania State University as part of the Centre County Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) incubator program. The company's mission was to develop and commercialize nanomaterial-enabled products based upon an extensive intellectual property portfolio. The early work of the company included the development of high performance flexible electronics, and nanomaterial-based sensors and analytical chemistry devices for drug discovery.
