Nantenna intends to modify a ultra low profile UHF SATCOM antenna for DoD use, based on AFSOC end user feedback. Our antenna operates in the 225-400 MHz frequencies, and is only 18" x 18" x 2" in size. We have achieved this through incorporating exotic thermoplastic laminates with unique dielectric properties into the design. This antenna is omnidirectional and offers a minimum 4dBi with a recommended input power of 50 W but has been successfully tested with higher wattage. Our goal in the SBIR program is to optimize the design for increased bandwidth and functionality to better align with the MUOS constellation of UHF satellites (300-380 MHz). Additionaally, we aim to reduce the size even further. Our design is stronger, smaller, and easier to operate than its existing competition, especially for rapidly deployable vehiccle mounted antennas.

The purpose of this Phase 2 effort is to build on our Phase 1 feasibility study to fully develop and prototype our small form factor UHF SATCOM antenna intended for vehicle mounting. Our estimated final design will be an 18" x18" x 2" flat panel antenna
