Phase II Amount
$1,506,898
During the proposed Phase II research and development effort, the project team will integrate previously demonstrated technologies into a high-performance rocket motor to serve as a missile defense interceptor upper stage. The resulting rocket motor will meet MDA requirements for a high degree of agility, high total impulse, very high axial acceleration as well as high specific impulse. The propulsion system will be capable of energy management in the form of thrust throttling and pulsing. The Phase II project will include a Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and full-scale, full-duration demonstration of the propulsion system in a hot-fire, static test.
