In December 2012, NEA® Electronics, Inc., itself a wholly owned subsidiary of Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D) completed its acquisition of Rocketstar Robotics, Inc. Rocketstar Robotics Inc had previously provided actuators and mechanisms for spaceflight applications. Rocketstar Robotics featured a management and engineering team with many decades of experience in the design and manufacture of spacecraft motors, gearboxes, actuators and mechanisms. The firm's engineers had designed numerous mechanisms Mars applications with experience in an extensive range of transmission, motor, telemetry and mechanism designs. Rocketstar Robotics can analyze, design, and manufacture components to customer specifications for demanding spaceflight applications. All analysis and design is performed in-house with the latest analytical tools. Rocketstar Robotics makes effective use of parametric models that are dynamically linked to our analysis. Manufacturing capability includes CNC machining, wire and sinker EDM, gear shaping and grinding, composites manufacture and precision OD grinding.
