Radiant energy transfer such as Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology could eliminate the need for bulky cables and reduce batteries' use, thus increasing mobility, convenience, and safety. Elimination of cables or connectors also increases systems’ reliability, especially to a critical system in defense applications, and provides the capability to wirelessly transfer power in contested spaces or waters. Recently, various technologies of WPT systems are developed and investigated but they are limited either by their WPT efficiency or range. Technical Systems Integration, Inc. (TSI) has partnered with Florida State University (FSU) for developing a Wireless Acoustic Viable Electricity (WAVE) solution for long-range efficient acoustic WPT through different transmission mediums such as air and water. WAVE is a viable, cost-effective, and efficient approach to meet the DARPA’ radiant energy transfer requirements. As with other long-range WPT technology, the technology has a vast DoD and commercial market value due to the convenience and spatial freedom offered to the use
