Addressing the issue of reduced energy output of solar panels due to dust accumulation, Superclean Glass Inc has developed a patent-pending, waterless self-cleaning technology that has proven capable of removing dust from solar panels: regaining as much as 95% of lost energy. Developed in the Stoney Brook (NY) Clean Energy Incubator, this R&D 100 and DOE Solar Prize awards-winning technology is based on proprietary electrodes that generate electric fields to sweep away dust from solar panels.
