New exploration technologies are needed to accelerate discovery and to unlock development of this critical part of the clean energy resource mix. Zanskar is building a predictive platform informed by specialized subsurface characterization technology and massive data sets to improve and de-risk exploration of geothermal resources - with important recent breakthroughs in geophysical characterization of subsurface flow paths enabled by low-cost field-deployable sensor arrays -- making it possible to understand geothermal plumbing prior to drilling and development -- and having the potential unlock more than 50 gigawatts of geothermal potential in a few decades
