In December 2016, Liquid Robotics was acquired by Boeing. Liquid Robotics Inc. engages in the design, engineering, production, and administration of Wave Glider, an unmanned maritime vehicle for ocean operations. The firm's products are used in various applications, including government/defense-national defense, port and harbor security, transportation safety, maritime domain awareness, search and rescue, and maritime law enforcement; scientific/environmental-climate science, oceanography, meteorology, tsunami warning, marine protected area monitoring, and marine mammal observation; and commercial/industrial-fisheries management, aquaculture, natural resources discovery, pollution detection, and offshore renewable energy. Liquid Robotics effectively is instrumenting the ocean with fleets of networked, wave powered ocean robots and is transforming ocean observation, making data collection and monitoring easier, safer and more cost effective.
