Caribou Biofuels Inc, spun out of research conducted at State University of New York, develops solutions that sustainably convert biomass into fuels. The primary technology utilizes a gasifier/pyrolysis system that converts biomass and trash into a liquid or gaseous biofuel. The technology utilziles biofuels such as wood, garbage, agriculture waste, landfill gas, and alcohol fuels and converts them into fuel. The solution is a fully automated, portable rotary gasifier waste-to-energy system that can be deployed at the site of the biomass and offers a cleaner, more efficient solution than existing technologies. One primary application being explored is the conversion of wood waste materials, often found with forest fires, into biofuels, biochar, heat, and power.
