Engineering & Scientific Innovations Inc.(ESI) provides a wide range of Research, Design, Development, and Test & Evaluation services to both government and commercial industry. ESI’s technical expertise resides in the areas of fluid dynamics, thermal management, heat transfer, and fire dynamics. In addition, ESI also designs and fabricates dedicated robust simulators, wind tunnels, water tunnels, and one of kind application measurement systems. ESI has been strategically involved in a variety of Department of Defense projects related to fire and explosion issues as they pertain to aircraft survivability. Specific investigations involved the transport of fire suppressants in confined and clutter environments, hot surface ignition, as well as the thermal field around pyrotechnic devices and their probability of flammable fluid pool ignition. These R&D studies were performed to improve understanding of the phenomena involved, and to provide benchmark data for computational fire code validation.
