Thermal Management Technologies (TMT) started life as a Centers of Excellence program through the Utah State University Research Foundation (USURF). In 2008, documents were prepared and signed finalizing the spin-off of Thermal Management Technologies to develop technologies emerging from SDL for widespread commercial use.The firm is a strategic partner of Utah State University's Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL). TMT is currently developing elegant thermal management solutions for microelectronics in computers and datacenters, Li-Ion battery packs in hybrid automobiles, and modular satellite panels. TMT has emerged from SDL with innovative technologies to include Thermal Control Panels: A straight-forward approach to efficient thermal radiators, isothermal spacecraft structures, and uniform heat spreading. Flexible Thermal Links providing a more thermally efficient heat path while minimizing any mechanical interaction. Thermal Switches: Autonomous thermal switches allowing multiple cryogenic cooling systems such as cryocoolers to redundantly control sensitive IR sensors. Fiber Support Technology (FiST) provides a significantly better way of mechanically supporting and thermally isolating a component than competing technologies
