Triverus has developed and transitioned FOD solutions for the Navy shipboard F-35/Harrier programs. The MCRRS technology represents the current state of the art relating to flat surface cleaning with enhanced performance for removing very small to relatively large particles that contribute to Storm Water Pollution (SWPP) and FOD risk. Operationally the MCRRS platform has also been developed to excel in usability, maintainability and long term sustainment. This has been done by using electronic condition based maintenance and system component modularity. The proposed technical addition to the MCRRS ability is to further develop the cleaning technology to accomplish high levels of solids efficiency while drastically increasing the overall square footage productivity. Work in this area has shown promise that the high speed cleaning ability can be supported while retaining the benefits of the MCRRS recovery efficiency.
Benefit: High Speed cleaning while done at a high particle recovery efficiency makes for the next level of outdoor surface cleaning capability. While FOD is important in the airfield environment, even smaller particles (and particles found in cracks) are massive contributors to Storm Water Pollution. At-Scale recovery of this material constitutes a meaningful contribution to managing storm water pollutant levels, namely TSS, Zinc and Copper, which commonly are missed by conventional sweeping technologies.
