Due to the critical importance of RF systems working for the warfighter as intended and when needed, the risk of co-site interference must be mitigated. This is especially important for Navy platforms carrying a wide variety of RF systems, such as high-power transmitters co-located with very sensitive receivers. The Navy must ensure that its RF systems are designed, installed and managed with minimal to no self-interference. Conversely, knowing how to precisely and strategically degrade or jam an enemy RF system is of great benefit to the warfighter.Technology which could quickly, automatically, and comprehensively characterize an RF system would be of immediate and significant benefit to the Navy and the warfighter. NuWaves proposes to develop the Rapid Automated Analysis System for Electromagnetic Measurements (RAASEM).The proposal outlines a detailed description of techniques to quickly characterize both transmitters and receivers through non-invasive measurement techniques.
