Existing wired and wireless communication systems are simplex, also called half-duplex. The transceiver nodes today either transmit or receive at a given time. Typically, a Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) system is used by radios to transmit and receive at the same time but at different frequencies. GenXComm has developed the worldâs first wide-band, small-form-factor single frequency simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) radio, also referred to as a true full duplex radio. The core capability of GenXComm is to cancel self-interference to enable these true full duplex communication systems. For a radio to transmit and receive at the same time, it must be able to match the self-interference caused by internal coupling, antennas and reflections exactly, and cancel them out to a high precision. GenXCommâs Simultaneous Self Interference Cancellation (S-SIX) technology combines hybrid analog and digital interference cancellation to be able to provide a wide-band, tunable true full duplex radio within a compact subsystem. S-SIX enabled full duplex radios can take advantage of both STAR and reciprocity to provide multiple enhancements to current tactical communication systems, including: agility, resiliency and securi
