The information systems that US Air Force (USAF) bases rely upon for emergency response are not optimally architected to ensure the fastest and most effective responses. Currently, there is no communications link between the public and private entities who respond to emergency events. This occurs due to the diversity of policies and procedures at private venues such as military bases and the resource constraints of public entities to adapt to these individual situations. This challenge results in emergency response teams not getting access to the right information to prepare the best strategy for their response. Responders need to know the unique characteristics of the building they are entering to determine critical time saving strategies such as which elevator in a large public building can accommodate a gurney or which path through a campus will allow quickest access. SimpleSense's solution provides a communications link through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), interoperable User Interfaces (UI), and auxiliary MobileData Terminals (aMDTs) that facilitates the exchange of this kind of critical infrastructure data. At its core, SimpleSense's technology is a platform that connects currently disparate information systems to gain efficiencies that allow first responders to save lives, bringing a novel intelligence to USAF bases.
