New to the SBIR arena in 2020 with the entire start-up team having close ties to Johns Hopkins, Troposphere Monitoring works in the space of hydrocarbon emissions sensor technology designed to monitor and detect gas leaks. The company's sensors use advanced infrared spectroscopy technology to detect and distinguish between different gases to include everythng from propane to ethane and butane thereby enabling oil and gas companies to recover more gas value than it costs to purchase and operate. In mid-December 2020 it was announced that Project Canary - an International Environmental Standards company providing environmental solutions for the global energy industry - had acquired Austin, TX -based Troposphere Monitoring, Inc.
