Interleaving ADCs and DACs is a common method to achieve high conversion rates. Interleaving is traditioinally accomplished through high speed switching within a single integrated circuit. Using electrical engineering theory and digital signal processing, circuit taps can enable external interleaving to be accomplished in the time domain. This circuit tap approach permits lower speed converters to be connected to high speed signals without sacrificing signal integrity while enabling the lower speed parts to convert the high speed signals.;
Benefit: This research will create a conceptual design that can be immediately applied in the characterization of a novel AFRL payload. This SBIR would advance existing plans and provide a new capability in the small satellite community. This hardware also has obvious applications in alternate markets such as satellite ground stations and antenna measurement and test.
