Public Profile

With close ties to Purdue University, FlightProfiler is structured around a general aviation safety management system software functional for over two decades. The firm's technology is designed to reduce Controlled Flight into Terrain and Loss of Control by enabling VTOL, UAS, GA & ATC - effectively managing vehicle movement with respect to weather constraints. This is achieved by providing real-time, 3D atmospheric situational awareness, including for Low Altitude & Beyond Visual Line of Sight airspace. Among other benefits, helps reduce inadvertent VFR flight into IMC and prevent violations of Federal Aviation Regulations. With the objectives being maintenance and improvement of flight safety while also reducing costs, the system uses advanced collaborative decision-making technology and NextGen analytics to prescreen an entire flight cycle - quantifying and illustrating how 79 different factors collectively affect planning for general aviation flights. The Advanced Aviation Analytics Institute for Research (A3IR-CORE) at Purdue University works in partnership with FlightProfiler - the firm - to improve the usability of the product. This includes creating process flow diagrams of the software and of Purdue flight operations, gathering flight data, and improving the presentation of the output. The software development team consists of mathematicians, meteorologists, graphic technologists, and computer scientists who are in communication with A3IR-CORE faculty and students effectively to collaborate and organize the task.
