Entegra Systems will conduct a Feasibility Study to develop a Virtual Planning Tool (VPT) for USSOCOM Special Operations Forces (SOF) operating in austere environments.VPT will enable users to visualize georeferenced imagery in a virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) 3D model, will interface with the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK), and provide an in the field ability to process georeferenced imagery on a laptop and create a 3D virtual rendering of a potential objective area.VPT will enable mission planners and operators to collaborate, plan, rehearse, execute, assess, and repeat tactical missions within austere and hostile environments. VPT provides situational understanding in a VR/AR environment. Collaborators can perform all of these functions, without having to be physically present in the same space. SOF planners and operators can continue planning while forces are deploying, and to respond, in real-time, throughout mission execution.Distributing the mission control functionality across multiple dispersed nodes eliminates single points of failure, thus ensuring survivability in the tactical environment. VPT will be lightweight, durable, power and bandwidth conservative, and enable the tactical warfighters to maintain visual awareness. VPT will integrate with ATAK, future AR/VR-based visual augmentation systems, and the various necessary information sources and systems.virtual, austere environment,Virtualized Data,Georeferenced Imagery
