ENGIN-IC proposes a GaN SSPA solution to address critical requirements for high output power and state-of-the-art efficiency for Space V-Band SSPAs.There are significant challenges with the design of GaN SSPA MMICs to achieve the required power and efficiency; ENGIN-IC will study multiple advanced GaN foundry processes combined with novel MMIC circuit design to achieve high efficiency goals of this SBIR.Integrating a low RF loss power combiner solution, our SSPA design has the potential to achieve 30 W RF output power with efficiency at more than 2X published performance.Consideration of linearity approaches for non-constant envelope QAM signals will be included in the study along with trades between linear operation, efficiency and power output.SSPA,GaN,High Power,V-Band,High efficiency,Low loss combining
