Public Profile
EWPanel LLC, spun out of the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2016, develops nanogenerators that can convert small movements, such as walking or touch a surface, into electricity to charge low-power electronics. The nanogenerator uses a tape-like thin film made from renewable wood pulp and can be incorporated into a variety of materials for self-contained power generation. One of the primary applications of this technology is powerless, flexible subfloor mat sensors, which uses the company's technology to generate electricity for things such as RFID chips, temperature sensors, and LED lights.
