Detection of car bomb blasts and unsanctioned nuclear test monitoring need accurate determination of the properties of the blast waves. Differential pressure transducers have the required performance sensitivity but must be scaled up in sensor housing, numbers of sensors in the network, and efficient processing of the data stream. Our data and modeling of differential pressure transducers and embedded systems suggests that in Phase 1 we can create a band-pass infrasonic sensor design with 100 sensors and noise reduction preprocessing with a layered network of data transport. Our proposed solution has an innovative, cost effective design for individual differential pressure sensors. Our technology presents the opportunity, if feasible, for detecting explosion events and performs extensive signal processing on candidate events. The use of our technology for detecting the signal and determining the angle of arrival.
