Public Profile
Beam Power Technology, Inc., is a technology startup founded at MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center to develop and commercialize technological advances made by co-founder, Dr. Chiping Chen. The technology, a ribbon beam vacuum tube, has wide applications in a variety of fields beyond power amplifiers including high power broadband wireless communication, commercial & military satellite communication, digital HDTV broadcast, military radar and advanced weapons systems, scientific research and radiation cancer therapy, X-ray sources for medical diagnostic, material analysis, Homeland Security and industrial processes such as semi-conductor manufacturing, welding, heating, curing and irradiation. The technology leapfrogs solid state power amplifiers used in mobile phone communications towers. Such amplifiers will be future-proof for emerging WiMAX, 4G, ultra-wide-band (UWB), and Software Defined Radio (SDR).
