Originally dba as Potluck LLC and subsquently - during the Phase I period - renamed OneClick.chat, principals of the firm are building a layer of intelligence over video chat to facilitate connections between people with mutual interests. The NIH Phase I SBIR support funded the firm to use what they were developing to address social isolation - teaming up with the University of Illinois to pilot use of the platforms ease of use to involve over-70 adults. By enabling Users more easily connect with family, friends, and other older adults with shared interests, it hadbeen hoped that the platform would mitigate negative health outcomes from early-onset Alzheimers to late-life depression and mortality. In fact, the practical applications of the system - Video Meeting Rooms and Live Video events were quite quickly flagged for other uses in education, for business associates variously located - and the now OneClick.chat is now operational .. and growing.
