Ferrate Treatment Technologies, LLC (FTT), formerly known as Ab Initio LC, is in the business of purifying water using technologies based on its proprietary iron chemistry platform. FTT is an oxidant technology development company focused on bringing its proprietary on-site Ferrate, or Fe(VI), synthesis technology to water and wastewater markets worldwide. The firm has produced the Ferrator , a fully automated disinfection and treatment system, capable of producing commercial quantities of liquid Ferrate; one of the most powerful, yet environmentally friendly oxidants known. Before FTT, there had been no successful commercialization of Ferrate, despite numerous efforts. Commercial use has been limited by seemingly unsolvable problems related to manufacturing costs and product instability. FTTâs innovative approach is distinguished from prior synthesis methods because the resulting product is now a liquid instead of a solid. Therefore, the product can now be directly injected into a process stream without special handling or mixing equipment.
