Spectrum Magnetics LLC is focused on development and manufacturing of advanced custom soft magnetic materials and devices for design and testing of high frequency applications. The firm has developed soft magnetic nanocomposites (SMNC) that have a much broader operating frequency range compared with traditional soft magnetic composites (SMC) and have much higher induction compared with traditional ferrites. SMNC is ideal to miniaturize inductive components and to produce high power inductors and transformers. Spectrum Magnetics has also developed polymeric magnetodelectric materials -- also known as RF polymers, metamaterials, metaferrites, or artificial ferrites -- that have tailored dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability. These magnetodielectric materials have many applications in (1) miniaturized antennas in different frequency ranges and (2) EM shielding and absorption. SML also offers consulting services in magnetic materials and designs, design in magnet assembly, magnetic circuit and systems, magnetic actuators, and RF measurement systems and fixtures, and characterization of magnetic and dielectric materials. SML offers in-house rapid prototyping and testing services for research, development, or products including: Polymer based composite material fabrication including metal or oxide inclusions; Various ceramic fabrication including ferrites and other oxides; Soft magnetic nanocomposite material fabrication; DC induction and AC loss characterization of alloys or oxides; Permeability and permittivity measurement from 10 kHz 10 GHz.
