Lite Run is structured around development of technology designed to restore mobility following an injury or disability, such as a stroke. With the objective being to aid help patients to stand and to walk in a manner, that is quick, safe, and cost-effective, the firm's endeavors stem from when the founders sought to develop a system that would help him to keep running as he struggled with knee pain. Solution: a new way to take body weight off using air pressure in a special pair of pants. From that initial project the firm proceeded to building a system with mechanical and pneumatic controls to run in the pants on a treadmill. Incorporates Spacesuit technology and anti-gravity science, the three founders of the company partnered with Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute and North Memorial Hospital to build a prototype walker version for gait therapy.
