Public Health Relevance Statement:
Acute wounds in patients with compromised vasculature are a big challenge in the wound healing space and have a heavy economic burden on health care costs. Compromised vasculature that leads to oxygen starvation in wounds hinders the normal progression of wound healing. The proposed oxygen generating wound dressing will provide oxygen through its unique and novel collagen based scaffold, which will promote the progression of wound healing in wounds with vascular deficiencies.
