AN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The common amino-acid methionine, present in all proteins, is a culprit in the aging process as well as in cancer. It is well known that dietary restriction of methionine can greatly extend a healthy life-span, and even reverse aspects of aging, as well as eradicate cancer in animal models. However, methionine-restricted diets cause unacceptable weight loss in humans because the diet requires protein restriction.
