This direct-to-Phase II SBIR proposal by the team of Vesperix, Leidos, and Expedition Technology is for the development and demonstration of the Polaris software-defined navigation system, a combination of a modular hardware platform specifically designed for dismount navigation, and the flexible, efficient Leidos Agile Data-fusion Engine for Plug-and-Play Technology (ADEPT) navigation engine, developed and proven in dismount testing under the DARPA All Source Positioning and Navigation (ASPN) program, and enhanced for this effort with collaborative navigation capability. This combination will not only meet the desired Phase III performance targets for accuracy, weight, and operating lifetime at the end of Phase II, it will also provide a solid foundation for further development and enhancement

Benefit:
Improved ability of US forces to operate in GPS-challenged environments; possiblity of production transition under the Assured PNT program element.
