A startup coming out of Colorado State, Growventia is developing proprietary technology that identifies and applies nature's best microbes to improve nutrient availability to plants, helping them to grow strong naturally. The research objective had been to help the full range of plants â vegetables, grains, flowers, turf etc â to unlock the phosphorus in soil that is essential to increasing yield and overall plant health. The firm's lead product - Mammoth P® - is a microbial soil additive with four microbes selected for their ability to cycle nutrients and deliver them to plants, with phosphorus being the main target nutrient. In ordinary situations, up to 70% phosphorus applied as fertilizer binds with the soil and immediately becomes unavailable to plants. The phosphorous saturated soil does however lead to waterway pollution and algae blooms in ponds and lakes. Growcentia's product unbinds the phosphorus for us by plants. The firm's product was early adopted by the Colorado legal cannabis industry - which relies heavily on hydroponic fast-growth systems - and that has lead to rapid growth by the small firm. However, Growcentia stresses their product is an alternative to the use of fertilizers but should be seen as an additive, synergistic with in-use fertiliz
