Founded to address the commercialization of technology developed by, and licensed from, the Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Departments at UW, Battery Informatics team is organized around energy storage - particularly large-scale energy storage batteries installed in the power grid. The effort is to develop the next generation of battery management for Li-ion batteries. Through a combination of longer battery life, lower capital costs and improved economic benefits, the software under development by the firm is addressing performance enhancement. Designed to operate as a real-time control system, the intent is to have the software either to replace or to enhance existing battery management systems currently utilized by power utility companies or commercial buildings.
