Annoucement at the time noted that work conducted at both firms addresses the processing, visualization, and analysis of geospatial and Earth observation data such that the two entities share a commitment to civic, social, and environmental impact. In addition, Element 84 and Azavea both prioritize open technology ecosystems and contribute significantly to open standards and open source software. It was further announced that the acquiring firm will move operations to Azaveea - the acquired firm - cfacilities. Azavea Inc had specialized in the creation of geographic web and mobile software, as well as geospatial analysis services to enhance decision-making.
