Public Profile
TibaRay is developing the next generation of linear accelerators and RF power sources using the most recent understanding of the basic physics of such systems to optimize for high efficiency, high gradients, compact size and low production costs. Cancer is the leading single cause of death worldwide and radiation therapy is one of the main curative treatments for most cancers. Modern radiation therapy has been revolutionized by technologies for accurate and precise 3-D targeting and shaping of radiation doses, but this remains technically highly challenging and costly. Furthermore, millions of patients worldwide do not have access to even the most basic radiation treatment technology. Tibaray is developing next-generation radiation therapy technology, PHASER, to deliver radiation treatment with unprecedented accuracy and exquisite shaping by ultrafast imaging and treatment that verifies tumor and organ positioning and "freezes" motion as treatment is delivered. The compactness and cost-effectiveness of our technology has the potential to make the most sophisticated, life-saving radiation therapy routinely available as the new standard of care worldwide. TibaRay Accelerator & RF Technology Picture We are developing linear accelerators using new RF technology. Our accelerators are capable of higher gradients, higher current, high repetition rates and are more compact than existing technology available today. We are also developing new RF source technologies than are compact, more efficient and cheaper than existing technologies. Our design methodology provides optimized designs with fast turn-around to fit individual needs and design constraints. By matching RF sources to the accelerator structures, we can make the best possible electron linacs for the defined needs.
