EPIImaging, LLC is a 3D computer vision company organized around design and delivery of 3D vision systems based on the firm's Epipolar-Plane Image Analysis (EPI) - offered as an important component of high-quality passive ranging and the acquisition and delivery of the light field. Launched by someone who has been a strong presence in the field of computer vision for decades. Originally studying stereo recognition, Epipolar Plane Image Analysis, a widely used and important representation within the light field research community. Applying 3D imaging analysis, problems addressed included applications in archeology as well as medical imaging. Later focusing on 3D reconstruction from the algorithmic perspective as well as the hardware side supporting light field research, the effort is now to exploit massively redundant light field imaging for communication, visualization, and spatial understanding.
