HydroGlyde Coatings, LLC is organized around commercialization of a new condom design with improved lubrication since insufficient condom lubricity is a universal drawback for consistent and correct condom use. The HydroGlyde Coating on latex condoms will provide uninterrupted superior lubrication that is activated with water thereby eliminating the need for additional lubrication to maintain condom lubricity. Inadequately lubricious condoms can result in mucosal microtrauma, increased chances of condom breakage, decreased satisfaction between partners, and increased risks for the spread of STIs. The firm's coating technology has significant commercialization potential because of the demand to: 1) improve currently available lubrication products; 2) increase correct condom usage; and 3) provide an innovative solution to address health concerns of preventing the spread of STIs. The HydroGlyde Coating is the first of its kind and represents a significant departure from all conventional latex condoms since this coating eliminates the need for commercially available supplemental silicone-, water-, and oil-based personal condom lubricants.
