Robotic Research, LLC, is a engineering firm originally founded by two persons previously working together in the Intelligent Systems Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST in Gaithersburg, MD) pursuing their shared interest in unmanned vehicles. With substantial financial backing, the technical staff of Robitics Research - now over 100 persons - have assumed key roles in major Department of Defense unmanned ground system programs. In conjunction with General Dynamics Robotic Systems, the firm has developed the autonomous mobility software for most autonomous ground robotic systems currently in use by the US Army. Over the now almost two decade period of development across all DOD components and DHS, Robotics Research has become a leading provider of autonomy and robotic technology to advance the safety, security, and effectiveness of transportation and mission critical operations. Highly customizable, Robotic Researchs self-driving technology can be applied to a variety of platforms- from tugs, UAVs, and shuttles, to heavy-duty transit buses and full-size logistics trucks.
