Transcendev engineer and Director of R&D, Stephen Farrington, sailed on the R/V Thomas G. Thompson from May 26 to June 26 to participate in Wiring the Abyss 2012, an ocean expedition supporting the NEPTUNE Canada cabled network, part of the University of Victoria's Ocean Networks Canada Observatory. Objectives of the cruise included refreshing several instrument platforms and laying fiber optic cable for an array of bottom pressure recorders that, among other science, will be used to study tsunamis.
