With facilities in GA and In MA., Battery Resourcers is revolutionizing the production of lithium-ion battery materials by establishing a clean and sustainable supply chain using recycled feedstock. Structured around a highly efficient Lithium Ion battery recycling process developed in part by personnel associated to Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Worcester MA, Battery Resourcers is creating premium energy storage materials from 100% post-consumer feedstocks. With the over whelming percentage of lithium ion batteries currently being landfilled, the firm's developed cathode to cathode recycling process is designed to process end-of-life lithium ion batteries to include recovery of the valuable cathode materials that can then be used in new batteries - a process that not only enables an important reduction of toxic waste but also the achievement of economic value from what would likely otherwise be "waste" batteries. The Battery Resourcers Hydro-to-Cathode technology directly synthesizes new cathode materials from spent lithium-ion cells more efficiently than traditional methods, reducing cost. Its cathode materials impart over 50% better cycle life and 88% higher power capabilities vs cells using traditional materials. The developed process has the lowest emissions in the industry compared not to only traditional recycling processes but also traditional cathode production processes. All together this enables lower cost cathode materials, less batteries in landfill, a cleaner manufacturing process, better battery performance, and a truly sustainable closed-loop circular battery economy.
