A periodic modulation in the refractive index and the lattice spacing of the CCA are such that visible light is diffracted according to Bragg's Law producing a sparkling color shift effect. Our crystalline colloidal array technology is utilized to create photonic crystal materials for paints, speciality coatings and sensing applications
