Previously doing business as Aerius Photonics, LLC, FLIR Electro-Optical Components LLC was acquired in 2011 by FLIR Systems - itself previously an SBIR involved firm. Now a subsidiary of FLIR Systems Inc,, the company designs, develops and manufactures short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) detectors and laser components for a variety of products including indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs)-based infrared detectors, high-power vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) diodes, ultralightweight laser rangefinders and altimeters, ultralight laser rangefinders and high-power pulsed lasers. Aerius is also conducting several research products aimed at extending the performance of our devices as well as inventing new ones. The company has been supplying thermography and night vision equipment to science, industry, law enforcement and the military for over 30 years, from predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, non-destructive testing, R&D, medical science, temperature measurement, and thermal testing to law enforcement, surveillance, security, and manufacturing process control.
