FieldMetrics Inc was formed to develop and deliver highly innovative, reliable and cost-effective measurement products. The firm has various areas of expertise including: practical electromagnetic and thermal field modeling of new or existing designs using state of the art 2-D and 3-D Finite Element Analysis; instrumentation design, prototype and test including electronics hardware, CAD/CAM and embedded software; and optical sensor design and development. The company's primary technology, MetPod, won a 2005 R&D 100, and is designed to provide utilities with a low-cost, easily installed method of monitoring distribution and transmission lines with high accuracy. The product offers a wireless link and self diagnostics in a low-cost, lightweight, scalable, sturdy, environmentally green package which is easily installed in almost any location and orientation.
