In September 2005, Lockheed Martin Corporation [NYSE:LMT] acquired Coherent Technologies Inc. Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies (LMCT) is a well-recognized developer of custom laser radar sensors. The company performs research, product development and system integration for products designed to maintain continuous, real-time operations in demanding environments and that provide critical information regarding target identification, chemical and biological tracking and hazardous meteorological events. At its core, LMCT has developed an extensive portfolio of laser and related technologies that extend from the ultraviolet (UV) to the long wave infrared (LWIR).
