HygraTek is a technology and engineering company that was spun out of CogniTek Management Systems. Hygratek is developing and commercializing a system for liquid separation via a proprietary membrane technology. The membrane works by repelling oil but allowing water through. Composed of off-the-shelf components, the membrane can be applied as a coating to existing surfaces such as filters, fabrics, and wire meshes. The technology has applications in oil and gas industry, HVAC/R industry, and in industrial water treatment. In addition to its oil-repelling membrane, HygraTek is also developing a Icephobic surface which prevents ice from adhering to itself.
