Eureka Genomics (EG), a life science company providing innovative genetic analysis solutions, today announced the launch of an advanced new human identification service branded under the name EG-Human ID Barcode. The test is now available as a testing service to ordering researchers and CRO's, and will be available as a kit starting Q3 2013.

EG's human ID Barcode service is an inexpensive Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based test that comprises of 94 SNPS, and 1 gender marker. The test works with DNA from primary tissues, cell lines, cytoswabs, and FFPE samples.

The EG-Human ID Barcode kits will run on Illumina or Ion Torrent platforms and allow multiplexing of hundreds to thousands of samples on a single run at lower cost than existing competing tests. "EG-Human ID Barcode harnesses the power of Next Generation Sequencing to provide the inexpensive solution to sample contamination, mislabeling, tracking and matching nightmares" says Dr. Heather Koshinsky, CSO and co-founder of Eureka Genomics.

About Eureka Genomics: Eureka Genomics (EG) develops Next Generation Sequencing-based assays and diagnostics, for research, clinical, animal and crop applications enabling highly efficient, targeted sequencing and flexible exploration of relevant genetic markers (SNPs, CNV, gene expression, methylation) in a massively parallel, platform agnostic technology.
