Fresnel Technologies Inc. purchased the lens division of Lectric Lites Company in December 1986, and moved into new quarters in Fort Worth in July 1987. The facilities include all required plant and equipment to support manufacturing of the industry's broadest line of Fresnel lenses, including lenses made from exotic infrared and ultraviolet-transmitting materials. In mid-1998, some of our Research and Development activities moved into a historically designated building that we completely renovated. The building also houses state-of-the-art tooling facilities and also a clean room, primarily for our medically-oriented projects. U.S. Patent RE 35,534 covers our LODIFF® lens, a Fresnel lens made with a constant groove depth, and with grooves which individually as well as collectively follow an aspheric contour. Many design patents, copyrights, and trademarks protect our products also. The LODIFF® lenses are widely used in passive infrared motion detectors, in addition to many other applications. We have several licensees worldwide. We are constantly diligent in our efforts to discourage and prohibit copying of our intellectual property. Our unrelenting attention to quality and technological advances have resulted in users of counterfeit lens arrays abandoning those products and seeking to become our customers. Our products are manufactured in Fort Worth and last year were shipped to at least 20 countries.
