Backstay LLC was founded to develop technology and solve nagging problems in solid mechanics & failure mechanisms in materials – especially composite materials, in-process precision manufacturing instrumentation, and instrumentation and methods to detect flaws in composite materials as well as means of repairing the flaws. In addition to this, the companies intent is to provide assistance to entrepreneurial engineering or science companies with business process, corporate organization, familiarization with US Government contracting, or DCAA approval of their accounting systems. The intent of the firm is to help entrepreneurial companies solve a host of difficult and nagging problems in corporate organization and process as well as advanced materials design and manufacturing. Technical support to the structures and materials design and manufacturing industries revolves around solving difficult problems that result when attempting to assess damage in these high performance structures and means of mitigating or permanently repairing that damage.
