nPoint, Inc. (Middleton, WI), has debuted a new series of digital-signal-processor-based controllers. nPoint's C.400 series made its debut at the 2011 Photonics West/BIOS conference. The controllers feature a digital signal processor (DSP), multiple advanced control profiles, and an easily navigated user interface.
The C.400 can simultaneously command six axes of motion, provides optional wave-scanning generation, Labview and DLL positioning control, and integrates with nPoint's EPROM-equipped stages for stage/controller interchangeability.
nPoint received Phase II SBIR funding from MDA in 2000 to work on advanced nanopositioners with enhanced speed and range of motion. Today, the company—with expertise in mechanical, electronics, and controls engineering—specializes in piezo-actuator-driven flexure stages available in one, two or three axes of motion. It also produces custom motion-control solutions for original equipment manufacturers in a variety of markets.
