Pittsburgh-based medical device firm Neuro Kinetics has raised $885,434 from private investors. President and CEO Howison Schroeder said all investors had previously put money into the company.
"We're earmarking the money for working capital and growth," Schroeder said. "It will support our research and product development for concussion detection."
Yesterday, Neuro Kinetics announced it contracted with Allegheny General Hospital to collaborate on the analysis of clinical trials underway at two military medical facilities.
Schroeder said the company, which currently employs 17, is looking to hire a mechanical engineer and a software engineer.
"It's been a whole new world in the past six months, and the next 12 to 24 are going to be very demanding and very exciting," he said.
