Livonia, Michigan - Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI), an international service and manufacturing company serving the aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, semiconductor and other manufacturing markets, today launched POWERTHRU, a new clean flywheel energy storage company that provides ride-through power and voltage stabilization for power quality and recycling applications. The energy-efficient POWERTHRU flywheel is a cost-effective, low-maintenance, environmentally-sound solution that can supplement, or completely eliminate the need for, flooded/wet cell and valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.

The launch of POWERTHRU stems from PSI's July 2010 asset acquisition of Pentadyne Corporation's flywheel manufacturing business. POWERTHRU will design and manufacture its flywheel energy storage systems in a manufacturing facility located in Livonia, MI.

"The technology behind POWERTHRU's flywheel energy storage systems has a track record of success," said Bob Phillips, Vice President of Marketing. "And we're committed to taking this green solution to new heights."

Manufacturing operations at POWERTHRU are expected to begin in early 2011. Further updates will be available in the coming weeks at www.power-thru.com.
